The problem is that my monk still seems to run out of energy because the Mesmers keep the the mobs so interrupted the monk is not getting much out of his inspiration stuff.

The necro is nice because the well of energy can comfortably fund me running a half bar of curses stuff along with the smite.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this other than "lol"...

Only "lol" because we just jumped back 4ish years when putting anything on a Necromancer was good. Those were the days...

Waste Not Want Not, Castigation Signet, Power Drain should sustain your Monk. How many instances of Strength of Honor are you maintaining?

I ran mine as a M/N, he didn't seem to have any problems. I also didn't have SoH, as I did not have a melee hero with me

I think the Hex Remover skill from the paragon wouldn't make much difference, becuase it needs a lot of adrenaline
